Respect Remember Resolution

Cherry created the sculpture ‘Respect, Remember, Resolution’ as part of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s Re-imaging Communities Fund.  The project was led by the Lower Shankill Community Association, who worked with the artist and community gatekeepers, in negotiating the removal of a contentious sectarian mural depicting Oliver Cromwell.  Cherry led a series of workshops, site visits and discussions with the community to create this work, which represents the Shankill Estate’s eagerness to remember the past, but also look towards and embrace the future and was the first large scale sculptural artwork created within the Shankill Estate, Belfast.
